Katharine Greenfield, MD
Katharine brings a broad range of life experiences to the program, her practice, and her patients. She was raised in the SE Alaska island community of Petersburg, where she grew up commercial fishing with her father. She later moved to Northern Nevada where she worked as a heavy equipment operator and grade setter for earthmoving construction. Eventually that work translated into her becoming a land survey party chief before deciding to return to school to pursue a career in medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada Reno in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology before moving to Wisconsin with her two children to attend UW School of Medicine and Public Health. She immediately fell in love with the people and the beauty of this state and has decided to stay here in Wisconsin for residency and practice. She plans to practice full-spectrum family medicine with obstetrics in a rural community. Katharine chose the Fox Valley program for its ideal location combined with their dedicated faculty, breadth of procedural training, and robust obstetrical experiences. In her free time she enjoys rowing, reading, kayaking, and spending time with her two children. On Wisconsin!
