Vogel

Lee Vogel, MD

Job title: CEO, Mosaic Family Health and Associate Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin  
Research and teaching interests: geriatrics 
Medical school: University of Minnesota – Minneapolis, MN

Dr. Vogel joined our program in 1990. She is a Minnesota native and a graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School. She completed her family practice residency and a fellowship in geriatrics at the University of California, San Diego. She was also on the faculty for two years at UCSD before coming to Appleton. Besides her broad base of clinical family medicine knowledge, Dr. Vogel has a strong interest in teaching geriatrics to residents in the office and nursing home settings. Other areas of expertise include medical ethics and health care promotion.

Allen R Last, MD, MPH

Job title: Program Director and Associate Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin  
Research and teaching interests: sports medicine, procedural medicine, preventive health care, dermatology 
Medical school: University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health – Madison, WI

Dr. Last joined our program in 2009. He grew up in the Fox Valley, leaving to attend college and ultimately graduating from the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He completed his family practice residency and a fellowship in faculty development at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was a faculty and program director at the Racine Family Medicine Residency Program prior to coming back to Appleton. He enjoys caring for people of all ages; from newborns to the elderly. The author of several publications, his clinical interests include health promotion, obesity, sports medicine and dermatology. When not working he enjoys spending time with his family, building furniture, and participating in various outdoor activities.

 

Megan Everson, MD

Megan Everson, MD

Job Title: Associate Program Director, Assistant Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin  
Medical school: University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health – Madison, WI

Dr. Everson graduated from our Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency program after attending UW-Madison for medical school. A Viroqua, Wisconsin native, she enjoys practicing the full spectrum of family medicine with interests in preventive health, prenatal care, and obstetrics. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.

 

 

 

 

Alice Boshoven 2017

Alice Boshoven, MD

Job title: Assistant Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin  
Medical school: 
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health – Madison, WI

Dr. Boshoven is a Chelsea, Michigan native. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, she subsequently graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed her Family Medicine residency training at Fox Valley Family Medicine before joining the faculty in 2016. Her clinical interests include Natural Family Planning, Natural Procreative Technology, hospital medicine, newborn and pediatric care, prenatal care, dermatology, geriatrics, and teaching. Outside the hospital, Dr. Boshoven enjoys running, playing tennis, spending time with her family, and being involved at her church.

Kathryn M Jacobe, MD

 University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health – Madison, WI

Dr. Jacobe joined our faculty in September of 2011, after graduating from the Fox Valley Residency Program in August. She is a native of Green Bay, WI and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Her areas of interest include maternity care, pediatrics, adult medicine, hospice and preventive care.

Elizabeth Menzel, MD

Job title: Assistant Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin 
Medical school:
 Mayo Medical School – Rochester, MN

Dr. Menzel grew up in Shawano, Wisconsin, a small lakeside town about 40 miles north of Appleton. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and attended Mayo Medical School prior to completing her training with the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency. Subsequently, she joined the faculty of the Fox Valley Family Medicine Residency program. Dr. Menzel enjoys practicing the full spectrum of Family Medicine with special interest in prenatal care and obstetrics, adolescent medicine, geriatrics, preventive health and health advocacy and education. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially cheering for the Packers and Badgers and spending time outdoors.

Deborah Schultz, MD

Job title: Associate Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin 
Research and training interests:
 geriatrics, preventative medicine, humanities, infectious disease 
Medical school: Medical College of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, WI

Dr. Schultz joined our faculty after graduating from the program in 1995. She is a native of Wisconsin and a graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Schultz’s areas of expertise and interest are in geriatrics, medical humanities, and the management of chronic pain. She holds a CAQ in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is the Volunteer Medical Director of Calumet County Hospice. Along with Dr. Lee Vogel, she coordinates the geriatric curriculum and providing teaching and patient care in the long-term care setting.

Barenboim 2019

Hernan Barenboim, PhD, LMFT

Job title: Director of Behavioral Health, Mosaic Family Health and Assistant Professor, Medical College of Wisconsin 

Dr. Barenboim joined Mosaic Family Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2018. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is a graduate of the Kennedy University psychology school.

After moving to the US, he completed a PhD in Medical Family Therapy at the University of Saint Louis and a fellowship at the Chicago Center for Family Health. He has more than 20 years of clinical experience that includes psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families, supervision of mental health students and teaching behavioral science to family medicine residents.

Dr. Barenboim believes that primary care is the first place patients look for mental health services; therefore his commitment is to teach mental health to family medicine residents to prepare them for this challenging endeavor. Other areas of expertise include helping couples improve communication, family therapy and psychodynamic therapy. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Barenboim has been a consultant in cultural competence and integrated care for several national and international companies.

Suzanne Dupont, APNP

Job title: Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner

Suzanne earned her Masters of Nursing Degree from Marian University in Fond Du Lac. Her special interests include geriatrics and wound care.

 

 

 

 

Jackie Gonzalez 2019

Jackie Gonzalez, BS

Job title: Clinic/Community Care Coordinator 

Jackie joined Mosaic Family Health in February of 2019. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Oshkosh in Psychology. Throughout her career of over 26 years in the Fox Cities she has been involved in positions of leadership/supervision on a local and regional levels. Jackie has had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and needs throughout her career and very much values being a resource and advocate for people in need. She truly recognizes the importance of and supports the blending of physical and mental health care with social services for people in our community. 

 

 

 

Metropulos 2019

Teri Metropulos, MA, LPC

Job title: Behavioral Health Counselor 

Teri is a State Certified Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Lakeland University.

Teri has worked as a State Certified Social Worker in the Fox Valley since 1990. Her work has spanned all generations, from birth to end of life. Her career has included work as a child welfare social worker, a State of Wisconsin treatment foster care administrator, a juvenile justice mentoring coordinator, manager of a non-profit organization for the Criminal Justice System, called Clean Break and spent 12 years working in End of Life Care as both a clinician and a Manager. Through her work experiences, Teri has found that her passion lies with supporting and empowering individuals to achieve their optimal level of mental health.
